District staff recently completed a parking lot retrofit in Manor Borough to help manage stormwater. Traditional asphalt was replaced with 1,120 square feet of permeable pavement. Now, the rain will filter into the ground below the pavers rather than running over the lot into the storm drain. This project was funded by Growing Greener with assistance from Manor Borough and designed by the Westmoreland Conservation District.

Another improvement to this parking lot was the creation of a 2,500 square ft. lawn, which added some greenspace to the area. Cuts in the new curb will let water from the parking lot drain into the grassy area.
