The J. Roy Houston Conservation Partnership Award was established in 2012 with the support of Peoples Natural Gas.
It is given each year to the group or individual who has shown outstanding commitment and service by partnering with the District to conserve our natural resources.
The award honors the memory and spirit of J. Roy Houston, whose 40 years of service as the District’s chairman (from 1970 until his death in 2010) is the longest volunteer commitment in the District’s history.
Roy became involved with the District at the urging of his then-employer, Peoples Natural Gas.
